Clinic Statement regarding COVID-19-Updated: 10/12/21

Dear Patients,

We wish to talk to you about the changes we need to implement while we adapt to the changing COVID-19 pandemic.

Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and support persons.

From Wednesday 24th November, we will not be able to provide consultations in the rooms, or treatment, if you are unwell or have any symptoms of COVID-19. We will ask you to leave the rooms if you become unwell while travelling to us so, please call us if you have concerns prior to arrival. You will be able to resume your care following a negative COVID-19 PCR test and once you are feeling well.

Consultations are able to be conducted via phone or Skype if preferred or necessary.

We will be limiting the number of people within the clinic and ask that patients only bring one support person to appointments. Children under 12 are no longer able to enter the clinic. To protect both them, our staff and other patients, we ask that you make alternative childcare arrangements. If you have extenuating circumstances and cannot find alternative arrangements, please contact our staff prior to attending your appointment.

If you experience any symptoms of COVID-19 while undergoing your treatment cycle, please have a PCR COVID-19 test and self isolate until you receive your results. If negative, you will be able to continue with treatment. If your treatment needs to be cancelled or postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test, you will not be financially disadvantaged when you resume your treatment cycle.

Admission to Ashford Private Hospital from Monday 6th December 2021: ALL patients regardless of vaccination status will be required to provide evidence of a negative PCR test undertaken within 72 hours prior to admission. FFC can provide you with request form to Clinpath for this test.

The nurses at FFC are able to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration during this time of change and challenge for us all.

COVID-19 Update: 03/12/21

We wish to provide you with the most recent update from Ashford Private Hospital regarding patient admissions from Monday 6th December 2021.

Family Fertility staff will be able to provide you with a Clinpath request form for this test, which can be undertaken efficiently at the Ashford Specialist Centre.
As always, we thank you for your continued understanding and consideration during this time.

COVID-19 Response

We understand that our patients may be experiencing growing anxiety. We look to our professional bodies for up to date information on the COVID-19 pandemic.

RANZCOG and ATAGI recommend:

Pregnant women are routinely offered Pfizer mRNA vaccine (Cominarty) at any stage of pregnancy. This is because the risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19 is significantly higher for pregnant women and their unborn baby. Global surveillance data from large numbers of pregnant women have not identified any significant safety concerns with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines given at any stage of pregnancy. Furthermore, there is also evidence of antibody in cord blood and breastmilk, which may offer protection to infants through passive immunity. Pregnant women are encouraged to discuss the decision in relation to timing of vaccination with their health professional. Women who are trying to become pregnant do not need to delay vaccination or avoid becoming pregnant after vaccination.

The Fertility Society of Australia recommend:

“For individuals attempting to conceive or preserve their fertility. At this point, there is no evidence to recommend contraception or cessation of attempts to conceive, either unassisted or assisted.

Risk mitigation measures (good hygiene, social isolation or distancing) according to the plan set in place by national and state, territorial or provincial agencies should be strictly adhered to.”
